Requirements

  • Valid Speech-Language Pathologist license for practice in MA or proof of eligibility.
  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow.
  • Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation.

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and therapy across speech-language pathology domains, including cognitive-communication, speech intelligibility, oral-motor function, swallowing disorders, perception, orientation, memory, pragmatics, psychosocial communication, functional communication, and case management.
  • Screen, examine, evaluate, and document patient status and progress; perform routine re-evaluations and revise treatment plans accordingly.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment programs and instruct patients in therapeutic techniques; select activities appropriate to patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional capacities.
  • Coordinate care with physicians and the interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to select and modify therapeutic regimens.
  • Refer patients to other disciplines or agencies when appropriate; identify hearing deficits and refer for further assessment/rehabilitation.
  • Train and coordinate patient use of adaptive communication devices.
  • Supervise clinical fellows (CFYs), temporary licensees, students, and support personnel per state licensure and professional standards.
  • Maintain required clinical and billing documentation, adhere to department schedules, and participate in patient care conferences and work meetings.
  • Coordinate home and community care with the interdisciplinary team and referring physician.
  • Order, maintain, clean, and report repair needs for supplies and equipment; ensure a safe environment and mitigate fire/safety hazards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
