Locum Tenens – Orthopedic Surgery APP (NP/PA) – Coos Bay, OR

Rate: Negotiable (tell us your rate)
Job Details
Coverage type: Scheduled clinical hours + call
Practice setting: Inpatient with emergency department coverage
Full-time availability required
Work week runs Sunday–Saturday
On call required:
Weekday, night, weekend, and 24-hour call rotations
Holiday coverage as part of rotation
OT applies after 40 hours per week
EMR system: Epic
4 hours unpaid Epic training required (testing out option available – 2 hours)
Lodging coordinated by site
Clinical Responsibilities
Daily inpatient rounding and care coordination
Develop and implement treatment plans with orthopedic surgeon
Order and interpret diagnostic studies (EMG, EKG, CT, MRI, X-rays, bone scans)
Perform procedures including:
Digital blocks and regional anesthesia
Wound closure, debridement, I&D
Tendon repair
Joint and bursa aspirations/injections
Closed fracture/dislocation reductions
Cast, splint, and brace applications
Percutaneous pinning, hardware and k-wire removal
First assist in surgery and perform tissue closures
Serve as primary orthopedic call for ED and inpatient units
Dictate discharge summaries, H&Ps, and progress notes
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and quality initiatives
Certifications Required
Board Certified (APP)
Requirements
Active state license required at time of bid: Yes (OR)
Board certification required
Clean history required
IMLC accepted: No
Full-time availability required
NPDB self-query required at submission
CAQH login and password required at offer
Must meet medical staff/allied health privileging criteria
