We’re looking for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to provide ongoing locum coverage in Columbia, South Carolina, starting April 27, 2026. This role covers both inpatient and outpatient settings at a large tertiary hospital campus with comprehensive surgical and pediatric services. Shifts are flexible—8-, 10-, or 12-hour options (12-hour preferred)—with limited weekend on-call (one weekend per quarter; Saturday and Sunday 7:00 a.m. starts). Callback follows facility policy.

Coverage & schedule

• Start date: April 27, 2026 (ongoing)
• Full-time locum coverage with flexible shift lengths
• Weekend call: one weekend per quarter
• Call type: weekend only

Patient population & case mix

• All ages: neonates through geriatrics
• High-volume environment: about 100 anesthesia cases per day
• Broad mix of surgical and procedural anesthesia, including pediatric cases
• Required procedures include general anesthesia for inpatient/outpatient surgery and anesthesia for IR, endoscopy, pulmonary lab, MRI, CT, radiation oncology, and EP labs

Facility & support

• Large tertiary hospital campus with full surgical and specialty backup
• Trauma: Adult Levels I–IV, with full pediatric services
• Equipment: GE Avance anesthesia machines; Epic EMR
• 24-hour anesthesia technician coverage
• Reason for coverage: ongoing locum staffing needs

Credentials & compliance

• Active South Carolina CRNA license required
• NBCRNA certification required
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required
• Minimum 2 years post-training experience
• Clean malpractice and background history required
• Hospital privileges required; credentialing timeline variable (up to 4 months with active SC license; up to 56 months without)

Role expectations

• Deliver safe, timely anesthesia care across a high-acuity hospital and outpatient surgical environment
• Support Level I trauma and comprehensive pediatric anesthesia coverage
• Collaborate with anesthesia care teams and perioperative staff
• Accurately document anesthesia care in Epic
• Be available to work assigned flexible shift lengths
