Locum-to-Perm Gastroenterologist — Prestonsburg, KY (Outpatient/Inpatient; Procedures + Travel/Lodging Covered)

We’re seeking a Gastroenterology physician to join a team in Prestonsburg, KY, on a locum-to-perm basis to provide both outpatient and inpatient clinical coverage. This is a supplemental role that starts ASAP and is expected to continue long term.

What you’ll do

• Provide general GI care, including rounding on inpatients and managing outpatient clinics (approx. 20 OP and 5 IP patients per day).
• Perform endoscopic procedures: upper and lower endoscopy, colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, ERCP, small bowel and liver biopsies.
• Supervise and collaborate with APPs as part of the care team.
• Respond to beeper call (24-hour coverage for nights and weekends) with a 30-minute response expectation and handle about 3 phone consults.
• Work Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., with scheduled call responsibilities.

• Hospital: 192 beds, Trauma Level IV
• Support staff: 2 MAs, 1 APP, and 3 office staff
• EMR: Meditech

Requirements

• Active Kentucky medical license or participation in IMLC
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology
• ACLS and BLS
