Locum Tenens Interventional Cardiologist — West Burlington, IA (Inpatient/Outpatient, Call)

We’re seeking an experienced interventional cardiologist to provide locum tenens coverage in West Burlington, Iowa, beginning April 6, 2026, with ongoing coverage expected. This role blends inpatient and outpatient care with clinical shifts Monday–Thursday (9:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.) and Friday (8:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.), plus rotating weekday and weekend call. Providers must be able to commit to a minimum of 23 weeks per month.

What you’ll do

• Deliver outpatient interventional cardiology care and perform scheduled clinic visits (12–15 patients/day).
• Conduct inpatient rounding, consults and admissions (5–10 patients/day).
• Perform diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in the cath lab, including diagnostic catheterizations, angioplasty/stenting, transesophageal echo, cardioversions, and both stress echo and nuclear testing.
• Interpret echocardiograms, Holter and event monitors.
• Participate in a rotating call schedule (weekday and 24-hour weekend call). Note: mandatory gratis on 24-hour call (4 hours).
• Collaborate with the cardiology team and multidisciplinary medical/surgical services.
• Accurately document all patient care in Epic in a timely manner.
• Take phone consults as part of on-call responsibilities.

• EMR: Epic.
• Fully equipped cardiac cath lab and diagnostic testing resources available.
• Strong specialty backup and hospital support staff, including an established cardiology team.
• Reason for need: ongoing locum coverage.

Credentials and requirements

• Active Iowa medical license or eligibility through the IMLC.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Interventional Cardiology.
• Active DEA registration.
• Required cardiology privileges and certifications per hospital.
• Previous interventional cardiology experience and ability to share general/interventional call responsibilities.
• Hospital privileges required; credentialing timeline is approximately 60 days.
