Rate: Local $828 / 24 hours

Required credentials

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Core responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic treatments.
  • Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Safely administer prescribed medications and treatments, observing dosing and protocol.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for signs of infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and patient condition changes accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain clear, accurate patient records of treatments, medications, and observations.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Insert, monitor, and manage IVs and IV-administered medications/fluids when within scope of practice.
  • Provide catheter care (insertion, maintenance, monitoring) and observe for complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing following protocol.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Assist with patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility support, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies per protocol and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control procedures and appropriate use of PPE.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies per regulations.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Maintain current nursing knowledge through continuing education.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
