Rate: Local: $1,242 / 36 hours

Requirements

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic treatments.
  • Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments per orders and protocols; ensure accurate dosing and documentation.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds for signs of infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, including treatments, responses, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids; ensure proper IV line function and care.
  • Provide catheter care (insertion as applicable, maintenance, monitoring for complications).
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
  • Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies according to protocols and provide basic life support when required.
  • Follow infection control procedures and proper use of PPE.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies in compliance with regulations.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and participate in health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.
