Travel LPN (Long Term Care) — Newport, VT — 17-Week Contract

Join a 17-week contract in Newport, VT as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Start ASAP. Schedule: Monday–Wednesday, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM. Travel rate: $1,649/36-hours.

Requirements:

• Active, valid LPN state license
• BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician guidance, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
• Conduct patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documentation requirements.
• Manage wound care: assess, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain precise patient records.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Administer and monitor IV therapies and care for urinary catheters, observing for complications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
• Assist with patient comfort, mobility, positioning, and pain management.
• Respond to emergencies and provide BLS as required.
• Follow infection control protocols and safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies.
• Advocate for patient rights and needs; may supervise CNAs or other unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
• Maintain professional competence through ongoing education and perform other duties as assigned by management.
