We’re seeking an LPN to join a Middletown, RI team on a 9-week contract (non-travel), starting ASAP. This position is evening shift, 3:00 PM–11:30 PM, with a local rate of $1,464 per 40 hours.
What you’ll need
- Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
- Current BLS certification
What you’ll do
You’ll provide hands-on nursing care under the direction of RNs and physicians. Typical duties include medication administration, wound care, IV and catheter care, vital sign monitoring, and routine patient assessments. You’ll document changes in condition, maintain accurate medical records, collect specimens for lab testing, and follow infection-control and medication-safety protocols.
You’ll also:
- Perform physical assessments, review medical histories, and help develop individualized care plans
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring correct dosing and adherence to protocols
- Evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds and surgical sites for infection or complications
- Insert, maintain, and monitor IV lines and administer IV medications/fluids as appropriate
- Provide catheter care and monitor for related complications
- Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration) and report significant changes
- Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care
- Assist with mobility, positioning, comfort, and pain management
- Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support when needed
- Work collaboratively with the healthcare team—RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff—to coordinate care
- Supervise CNAs or UAPs when required to ensure safe, high-quality care
- Promote preventive health measures and advocate for patients’ needs
- Maintain competency through ongoing education and training
- Follow all safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines for handling and disposing of medications/supplies
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
