LPN/LVN Licensed Practical Nurse – Long Term Care (Contract, Parkersburg WV)

We’re seeking a dependable LPN to join a Parkersburg, WV team on a 9-week contract (non-travel) starting ASAP. This is an evening/night shift: 06:45 PM–07:15 AM. Pay is local: $943 per 36-hour week.

What you’ll need

• Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
• Current BLS certification

What you’ll be doing

• Provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician supervision — think medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and routine assessments.
• Complete focused patient assessments (history, physical checks, medication reviews) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following established protocols.
• Manage wounds and dressings, monitor for infection or complications, and document findings.
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patients’ conditions in clear, accurate charting.
• Assist with IV therapy and catheter care as needed, including insertion, maintenance, and monitoring for problems.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for labs and help coordinate care with the healthcare team.
• Support patient comfort and mobility, provide basic pain management, and follow safety/positioning guidelines.
• Respond quickly in emergencies, using BLS and facility protocols.
• Follow strict infection control practices and properly handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, and self-care to promote recovery and wellness.
• Advocate for patients’ needs and collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to ensure seamless care.
• Occasionally supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel, and perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Stay current with nursing best practices and complete required training.

Shift: 06:45 PM–07:15 AM

Rate: Local $943/36-hours
