Schedule: 2:30 PM–11:00 PM | Rate: Local $1,244/40 hrs

Overview
Provide direct, patient-centered nursing care under RN or physician direction in a clinical setting. This contract LPN role emphasizes safe medication administration, wound care, assessment, documentation, patient education, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient assessments (vital signs, focused physical exams, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration.
  • Provide wound care: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor wounds for infection or complications.
  • Insert, monitor, and manage IV lines and administer IV medications/fluids as applicable.
  • Care for patients with urinary catheters, including insertion, maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient status, treatments, and responses.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnosis, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Support patient comfort and safety (positioning, mobility assistance, pain management).
  • Respond to emergencies following established protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control standards and proper handling/storage/disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Collaborate closely with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other staff to coordinate care.
  • May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when required.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and comply with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
