Locum Tenens OB/GYN — Outpatient Call Coverage in Henderson, NC (24‑hr, 7on/7off; Travel & Malpractice Covered)

We’re seeking an OB/GYN to provide locum tenens call coverage at an outpatient-focused practice in Henderson, NC. This role supplements the existing team and starts ASAP with ongoing coverage. You’ll work primarily on call (beeper system) with a preferred 7 on / 7 off 24-hour schedule (7a–7a). Physicians are not required to be on-site while on call, and certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) can manage epidural deliveries and have prescribing authority—so you won’t need to round on OB patients already managed by CNMs.

What you’ll be doing

• Provide call-only coverage with a 25-minute response expectation.
• Handle a typical patient volume of about 10 consults while on call; phone consult frequency varies.
• Participate in admissions and rounding as needed.
• Manage a range of obstetric and gynecologic care, including routine and complicated deliveries and repair of 3rd–4th degree lacerations.
• Perform OB ultrasound and fetal heart rate interpretation.
• Provide office-based minor and surgical gynecology procedures.

• Location: Henderson, NC (outpatient service setting)
• Annual deliveries at the facility: ~360
• Department beds: 15
• Support staff: 2 APPs, 1 MA, 2 office staff
• EMR: Athena
• Call-back compensation: 30%
• Temporary hospital privileges available; hospital privileges required for assignment
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance provided

Qualifications

• Active NC medical license
• Board certified or board eligible in OB/GYN
• DEA registration
• BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP certifications
