Contract Occupational Therapist (School) — Federal Way, WA (16-week)

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 08:00–16:00
Compensation: Travel: $2,280/40 hrs; Local: $2,248/40 hrs

Required credentials

• Active, valid Occupational Therapy state license.
• Current CPR and BLS certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross (including AED).

Primary responsibilities

• Assess patients’ physical and cognitive functioning and environmental factors to identify limitations and establish measurable goals.
• Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and interdisciplinary team members.
• Implement evidence-based OT interventions to improve activities of daily living (ADLs), instrumental ADLs, fine motor skills, cognition, and independence.
• Recommend, fit, and train patients in the use of adaptive equipment and assistive devices.
• Provide direct instruction and supervised practice of daily living tasks.
• Educate patients and family/caregivers on condition management, safety, and strategies to support independence.
• Monitor, document, and revise treatment plans based on patient progress and outcomes.
• Coordinate care with PTs, SLPs, nurses, physicians, and other providers to support discharge planning and community/work reintegration.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation (evaluations, treatment notes, progress reports).
• Pursue ongoing professional development and stay current with OT best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
