Join a behavioral health team in Anderson, SC to provide inpatient adult and geriatric psychiatric coverage on a locum tenens basis. This position is call-only, covering 24-hour shifts with an 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. schedule on a 1:4 rotation. Coverage begins May 2026 and is ongoing.

Clinical setting and responsibilities

• Inpatient behavioral health unit; average daily census ~20 patients (approximately 60% adult, 40% geriatric).
• Duties include 24-hour on-call assessments, prescribing controlled substances, pre-admission screening per CMS guidelines, weekly care plan documentation, and discharge summaries with medication reconciliation.
• Rounding is required, and supervision of advanced practice providers is expected.
• Epic EMR in use.

• Current psychiatric staff: 4 physicians; support includes one mid-level assistant.
• Specialty backup and hospital support: 24/7 lab and anesthesia services; Level III trauma center; 533 beds.
• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges are available.
• Preference given to providers within driving distance when possible.
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.

Requirements
