Locum tenens urology opportunity in Morgantown, WV providing weekend inpatient/outpatient call coverage (call-only). Coverage runs May–December 2026 with recurring weekend shifts: 24-hour call beginning 7:00 AM Friday and ending 7:00 AM Monday (1:1 call ratio). Response time as clinically appropriate.

Coverage dates (examples/available weekends):

• May 15–18
• June 12–15 or June 19–22
• July 3–6, July 10–13, July 17–20, or July 24–27
• Aug 14–17 or Aug 21–24
• Sept 4–7, Sept 11–14, or Sept 18–21
• Oct 9–12 or Oct 16–19
• November: any weekend except Thanksgiving
• Dec 4–7 or Dec 11–14

Patient mix and volume:

• Adult patients (18+)
• Typical census: ~12 patients on Friday with 5–10 consults per day over the weekend
• General urology consults with occasional urgent OR cases (stent placement, stone management, clot evacuation)
• Admissions and rounding are part of call duties; phone consults expected

Facility and support:

• Level IV trauma center using Cerner EMR
• Fully equipped hospital and OR; standard hospital support staff available
• Specialty backup available through hospital services
• Coverage requested to supplement weekend call

Privileges, credentialing, and logistics:

• Hospital privileges required; credentialing takes ~60 days
• Travel, lodging, and malpractice coverage provided

Required qualifications:

• Board certified in Urology
• Active WV license or eligible via IMLC/WV temporary license
• Active DEA registration
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Minimum 2 years’ urology practice experience
• Comfortable independently managing weekend hospital-based urology call

Key responsibilities:

• Provide continuous weekend call coverage (Fri 7:00 AM–Mon 7:00 AM)
• Triage and manage inpatient consults and emergency urologic cases
• Perform urgent OR procedures as indicated
• Coordinate care with hospital teams and document in Cerner in a timely manner

Procedures commonly expected:

• General urologic procedures
• Ureteral stent placement and stone management
• Clot evacuation and other emergency urologic interventions
