Locum tenens opportunity in Saranac Lake, NY providing inpatient and outpatient urology coverage from 04/01/2026–07/31/2026 (potential to extend). Clinical schedule is Monday–Friday with a mix of office, OR, and cystoscopy days; on-call Monday–Thursday with minimal callbacks. Call is beeper-based with a 1:1 ratio.
Clinical scope
- Adult and geriatric patient population with a standard “bread-and-butter” urology case mix
- Provide outpatient clinic coverage three days per week
- Perform OR-based urology procedures one day per week
- Conduct cystoscopies one day per week
- Handle phone consults as clinically appropriate
Support and operations
- Fully equipped urology clinic, OR, and cystoscopy suite
- Full hospital specialty backup and support staff on site
- Team includes three experienced PAs who manage admissions, rounding, discharges, and routine clinic visits; physician supervises and collaborates with PAs
Privileges, requirements, and compliance
- Hospital privileges required
- Active New York medical license
- Board certified in Urology
- Active DEA registration
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Physicians only; experience with general urology procedures required
Compensation and logistics
- Travel, lodging (provided by facility), and malpractice insurance covered
This role provides focused, supported coverage for general urology in a community hospital setting.
