TeamHealth is seeking a critical care physician to join the ICU team at Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the ICU, including daily patient assessment, management of life-support technologies, ventilator management, hemodynamic support and critical care procedures
- Collaborate with specialists, hospitalists, nursing, respiratory therapy and ancillary services to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, clinical decision-making, and family communication
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record system
- Support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts and institutional protocols within the ICU
- Participate in scheduled coverage, including nights or weekend call as defined by the department schedule
