Job Description
We are seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon to provide ongoing ED call coverage and inpatient support in Pennsylvania. This opportunity includes emergency department call, floor consults, surgical cases, and post-operative follow-up at a community hospital setting.
Coverage Details
- Schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (24-hour call)
- Estimated 8 shifts per month
- Coverage blocks typically scheduled one week at a time
- Flexible scheduling options available for weekday and weekend coverage
- Average admissions while on call: 3–4
- Adult patient mix: 95%
- Pediatric patient mix: 5%
- EMR: Epic
Typical Cases
- Hip fractures
- Ankle fractures
- I&D procedures
- General orthopedic consults
- ED surgical cases and follow-up
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
- Active Pennsylvania medical license or IMLC in hand
- DEA required
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year of experience
