Locums Interventional Cardiology Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified Interventional Cardiology Physician for a locum tenens opportunity providing inpatient and EMTALA call coverage in Paducah, Kentucky. This role is focused exclusively on hospital-based interventional and general cardiology care with no outpatient or ambulatory responsibilities.

 

Assignment Details

• Shift Type: 24-hour on-call coverage
• Shift Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Coverage Needs: 3–7 days per month
• Weekend Coverage: Yes (included within on-call days)
• Practice Setting: Inpatient / EMTALA Call
• Clinic Duties: None (no ambulatory work)

 

Clinical Responsibilities

Interventional Cardiology Procedures:

• Balloon angioplasty
• Coronary angioplasty
• Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI)
• Cardiac catheterizations
• Coronary angiograms

General Cardiology Responsibilities:

• Respond to all cardiology calls for the hospital
• Perform general cardiology consults as needed
• Interpret and read diagnostic studies, including:
• EKGs
• Echocardiograms
• Stress tests (including nuclear stress tests)

 

Requirements

• Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology
• Active Kentucky medical license
• Active DEA
• ACLS certification
• COVID vaccination required
