We’re seeking a locum tenens Emergency Medicine physician to join the team in Mansfield, Ohio, starting May 5, 2026, with ongoing coverage. This position is clinical only and supports both inpatient and outpatient emergency care with flexible scheduling to meet department needs.

Schedule and Coverage

• Coverage begins May 5, 2026, and continues on an ongoing basis.
• Rotating 9–10 hour shifts across days, evenings, and nights.
• Flexible scheduling based on departmental needs.

Patient Population and Volume

• Care for patients of all ages.
• Emergency Department handles approximately 40,000 visits per year.
• About 30% of patients are admitted or observed.
• Case mix includes general emergency medicine plus trauma, cardiac, neurologic, orthopedic, and OB/GYN presentations with specialty support available.

Facility and Support

• Emergency Department: 45 beds and 5 triage rooms.
• Trauma designation: Level III.
• EMR: Epic.
• Fully equipped ED with NP/PA coverage on all shifts.
• On-site specialty backup: Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, OB/GYN, Orthopedics.
• Role is intended to provide supplemental coverage.

Clinical Scope and Procedures

• Expect to perform the full scope of emergency medicine procedures.
• Trauma stabilization and management, cardiac, neurologic, and orthopedic emergency care.

Privileges, Credentialing, and Compliance

• Hospital privileges are required (temporary privileges are not available).
• Credentialing typically completes about 90 days after a finished application.
• Maintain compliance with hospital credentialing and documentation requirements.

Licensure, Certifications, and Experience

• Must have an active Ohio medical license or be eligible for rapid licensure (DEA or IMLC eligibility).
• Board certified or eligible in ABEM, ABFM, or ABIM with at least 2 years of Emergency Medicine experience.
• Active DEA required.
• ATLS certification: required for ABFM/ABIM candidates; ABEM physicians must document ATLS at least once previously.
• CAQH attestation required.
• No temporary privileges offered.

• Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance covered.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care across varied shifts.
• Collaborate with NP/PAs and specialty teams to deliver comprehensive patient care.
• Document thoroughly using Epic.
• Support department coverage needs as scheduled.
