We’re seeking a General Medicine Nurse Practitioner to provide supplemental outpatient coverage in Warwick, RI. This is a PRN role beginning ASAP and continuing on an ongoing basis. You’ll perform primarily interview-based exams with some focused physical assessments (e.g., range of motion and muscle strength testing). Note: this position is clinical only — no prescribing or treatment is required.

What you’ll do

  • Conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.
  • Perform patient interviews and targeted physical assessments (ROM testing, muscle strength, basic METs evaluation).
  • Evaluate and diagnose respiratory and cardiovascular conditions as needed within the scope of the exam.
  • Work on an as-needed schedule: half day (≤4 hours), full day (4–8 hours); weekend availability is welcome but not required.

Requirements

  • Active Rhode Island NP license.
  • AANP certification.
  • DMA Certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Must have your own office space and personal laptop (Windows-based; no Apple/Mac).
  • Proficient in METs testing and in evaluating respiratory and cardiovascular issues.
  • Must reside within 50 miles of Warwick.
  • NPDB report required.

  • Coverage is supplemental and focused on clinical examinations only.
