PRN General Medicine Nurse Practitioner — Outpatient VA Exams in Pahrump/NV (Malpractice Covered)

Join our outpatient team in Nevada as a General Medicine Nurse Practitioner supporting Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments on a supplemental, PRN basis. You’ll primarily conduct interview-based exams with focused physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength testing, METs, and evaluation of respiratory and cardiovascular issues). This role is clinical only — no prescribing or ongoing treatment is required. Malpractice insurance is provided.

Location and schedule

• Service areas: Pahrump, Gardnerville/Minden, Ely, NV
• Coverage period: ASAP — ongoing
• Shift types: PRN (as-needed); half days (≤4 hours) or full days (4–8 hours)
• Weekends: available but not required
• Must be within 50 miles of assigned location

What we’re asking for

• Active Nevada NP license
• AANP certification
• DMA certification, or willingness to obtain
• Ability to perform METs testing and evaluate/diagnose respiratory and cardiovascular conditions
• Must have your own office space
• Personal laptop required (no Macs/Apple)
• NPDB report required

What you’ll do

• Conduct compensation and separation exams with a focus on patient interview and targeted physical assessments
• Perform range of motion and muscle strength testing as indicated
• Document findings clearly — this is assessment and reporting only; you will not prescribe or provide ongoing treatment
