PRN General Medicine Nurse Practitioner — Outpatient Compensation & Pension Exams (MI)

Join our outpatient team serving multiple communities across Michigan (Brimley, Norway, Rogers City, Sault Ste. Marie – West Branch, Manistique, Ludington, Gaylord – Presque Isle, Harrisville, Newberry, Alma, Houghton) to provide supplemental clinical coverage as a General Medicine Nurse Practitioner.

Assignment details

• Service setting: Outpatient
• Coverage type: Clinical only (supplemental)
• Coverage period: ASAP – ongoing
• Shift types: PRN (as-needed), half day (≤4 hours), full day (4–8 hours); weekend shifts may be accepted but are not required
• Scope: Compensation & Pension exams, Separation Health Assessments
• Liability: Malpractice insurance provided

Primary responsibilities

• Conduct primarily interview-based medical exams with selective physical assessments (e.g., range of motion, muscle strength)
• Perform METs testing and evaluate/diagnose respiratory and cardiovascular findings
• No prescribing or treatment responsibilities

Required qualifications

• Active Michigan NP license
• AANP certification
• DMA certification or willingness to obtain
• Must maintain a personal office and provide own laptop (PC only; no Apple/Mac)
• Reside within 50 miles of assigned location
• NPDB report required
