We’re looking for a General Medicine Nurse Practitioner to provide supplemental outpatient clinical coverage in multiple Maine locations (North Anson, Houlton, Bangor, Scarborough). This is a PRN role with flexible scheduling—options include half days (≤4 hours), full days (4–8 hours), and occasional weekends if you’re available. Coverage is needed ASAP and will continue on an ongoing basis.
What you’ll do
- Conduct primarily interview-based Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments with some focused physical assessment (range of motion and muscle strength testing).
- No prescribing or treatment responsibilities—this is clinical assessment only.
Typical schedule (weekly distribution)
- North Anson: 2 days/week
- Bangor: 2 days/week
- Houlton: 1 day/week
- Scarborough: 1 day/week
Requirements
- Active Maine NP license
- AANP certification
- DMA certification or willingness to obtain it
- Must have your own office and personal laptop (Windows; no Apple/Mac)
- Proficient in METs testing and in evaluating/diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions
- Must reside within 50 miles of assigned location
- NPDB report required

- Malpractice insurance is provided.
- This role is clinical-only and supplemental coverage for outpatient services.
