PRN General Medicine Physician – Outpatient VA Exams (Coeburn, VA)

We’re seeking a General Medicine clinician to support outpatient coverage in the Coeburn, VA area (including Covington, Hillsville, Emporia, and Richmond regions) on a supplemental, PRN basis. This role focuses on clinical-only exams—primarily interview-based evaluations with some focused physical assessment (e.g., range of motion and muscle strength testing). You will not be prescribing medications or providing ongoing treatment.

What you’ll do

• Conduct Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments as assigned.
• Perform interviews and focused physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength, METs testing).
• Evaluate and diagnose respiratory and cardiovascular conditions as part of the assessment.
• Complete DMA-required documentation and reporting.

Schedule and coverage

• Start: ASAP, ongoing as-needed coverage.
• Shift types: PRN; half days (4 hours or less), full days (4–8 hours), and occasional weekends (optional).

Requirements

• Active Virginia medical license.
• Board certified.
• DMA certification or willingness to obtain it.
• Must have your own compliant office space.
• Proficient in METs testing and in evaluating cardiovascular and respiratory findings.
• Must be located within 50 miles of the assignment location.
• Must provide NPDB report.
• Must use a personal laptop (Windows-based; Macs/Apple devices not accepted).
