PRN General Medicine Physician — Outpatient Compensation & Pension Exams (Multiple CA Locations)

Looking for a General Medicine provider to support outpatient coverage across several Northern California locations. This is a supplemental, clinical-only role providing Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments on a PRN basis. Assignments range from half-day (≤4 hours) to full-day (4–8 hours), and coverage is needed ASAP on an ongoing schedule.

What you’ll do

• Conduct primarily interview-based exams with some focused physical assessments (range of motion, muscle strength testing).
• Perform METs testing and evaluate/diagnose respiratory and cardiovascular conditions as needed.
• No prescribing or treatment responsibilities.
• Work different sites on a weekly rotation (see schedule below).

Typical weekly site schedule

• Susanville: 1 day/week
• Crescent City: 2 days/week
• Ft Irwin: 1 day/week
• Sonora: 1 day/week
• Atascadero: half day/week
• Eureka: 1 day/week

Logistics & compensation

• Malpractice insurance is provided.
• Coverage type: Clinical only (supplemental).
• Shift types: PRN, half-day, or full-day as scheduled.

Minimum requirements

• Active California medical license
• Board certified (BC)
• DMA certification or willingness to obtain one
• Must have your own office and personal laptop (no Apple/Mac)
• Proficient in METs testing and in evaluating/diagnosing respiratory and cardiovascular conditions
• Must reside within 50 miles of assigned location(s)
• NPDB report required
