Locum Tenens Hospitalist — Southaven, MS (7-on/7-off; Day/Swing/Night, Epic)

We’re seeking a locum tenens hospitalist to join a busy team in Southaven, Mississippi, starting April 1, 2026, with ongoing coverage. This is clinical-only work in a fully equipped 339-bed hospital using Epic.

Schedule and coverage

• 7-on / 7-off rotation with day (7a–7p), swing (noon–midnight; may vary with census), and night (7p–7a) shifts.
• Start date April 1, 2026; ongoing assignment.

Clinical responsibilities

• Provide full inpatient hospitalist care for adults: admissions, daily rounding, and ongoing management.
• Participate in phone consultations as clinically appropriate.
• Respond to codes and Rapid Response Team activations.
• Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams and specialty services.
• Complete accurate, timely documentation in Epic.

Patient and case mix

• Adult patients with a general hospital medicine case mix.

Support and environment

• Work alongside hospitalist physicians, NPPs, nursing staff, and multiple inpatient/surgical specialty teams.
• Specialty backup available when needed.
• Reason for coverage: supplemental staffing.

Privileges, credentialing, and compliance

• Hospital privileges required; credentialing timeline to be determined.
• Must maintain current flu and COVID immunizations.

Required qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Mississippi medical license.
• BE/BC in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Active DEA with Mississippi address and schedules II–V.
• ACLS certification.
• Minimum two years recent clinical hospital medicine experience.
• Completion of an accredited residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Documentation of case logs and CME for the past two years.
