Contract (Travel) opportunity in Belen, NM — 16 weeks, start ASAP. Schedule: Wed–Fri, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM. Travel rate: $1,523/36 hours.

Requirements:

  • Active, unencumbered Licensed Practical Nurse license for the state of practice
  • BLS certification

Position overview:
Provide direct bedside nursing under RN or physician direction, delivering safe, patient-centered care across assessments, treatments, and documentation. Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team to support positive patient outcomes and maintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) and contribute to individualized care planning.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, including IV medications/fluids and management of IV lines.
  • Provide wound care: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain accurate medical records.
  • Assist with urinary catheter care (insertion, maintenance, monitoring) and collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for testing.
  • Support patient comfort and mobility, including positioning, pain management, and safety measures.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care to promote wellness and adherence.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow strict infection control practices and proper handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and advocate for patient rights and needs.
  • When applicable, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel to ensure high-quality care.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and perform other duties as assigned by management.
