Location: Lewiston, ME | Start: ASAP | Duration: 19 weeks | Schedule: 06:45 AM–07:15 PM | Rate: Local: $1,120 / 36 hours | Contract (Non-Travel)

We’re looking for a skilled LPN to join a busy care team in Lewiston for a 19-week contract. If you’re a licensed, compassionate nurse who enjoys hands-on patient care and working closely with RNs and physicians, this could be a great fit.

What you’ll need

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse state license
  • Current BLS certification

What you’ll do

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician supervision, including medication administration, wound care, and monitoring vital signs.
  • Perform patient assessments—take histories, complete physical checks, and review medications—to help develop individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately, following facility protocols.
  • Manage wounds and incisions: cleaning, dressing, monitoring for signs of infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respirations) and report changes in patient condition.
  • Keep clear, accurate patient records of assessments, treatments, and responses.
  • Teach patients and families about diagnoses, medications, and self-care to support recovery and wellness.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications and fluids when required, ensuring IV lines are functioning properly.
  • Provide catheter care—insert when appropriate, maintain, and watch for complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing as needed.
  • Work collaboratively with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Attend to patient comfort and safety: assist with positioning, mobility, and pain management.
  • Respond quickly in emergencies, following protocols and providing basic life support as necessary.
  • Follow infection control practices, including proper hand hygiene and PPE use.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and help with health assessments and wellness education.
  • Advocate for patients’ needs and rights within the healthcare system.
  • Maintain professional growth by staying current with nursing best practices and required training.
  • When needed, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel to ensure consistent, high-quality care.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
