Requirements:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Overview:
Provide professional, patient-centered nursing care in collaboration with RNs, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team. Deliver safe, accurate treatments and assessments while maintaining clear documentation and adhering to facility policies and infection-control standards.

Core responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments with accurate dosing and protocol adherence; manage IV lines.
  • Provide wound care, including evaluation, cleaning, dressing changes, and monitoring for infection or complications.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain precise medical records.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing and facilitate accurate sample handling.
  • Support patient comfort and safety (positioning, mobility assistance, pain management) and manage urinary catheters as needed.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Respond to emergencies following established protocols and provide basic life support when required.
  • Follow strict infection control practices and safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies.
  • Collaborate with and, when applicable, supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel to ensure high-quality care.
  • Advocate for patients’ needs within the healthcare system and participate in ongoing professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
