We’re looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join a Scarborough, ME team on a 10-week contract (non-travel). This role starts ASAP, follows the 06:45 AM–03:15 PM shift, and pays $1,168 per 40-hour week.

What you’ll need

  • Active, valid LPN license for the state.
  • Current BLS certification.

What you’ll do

  • Provide hands-on nursing care under RN or physician direction — medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and more.
  • Perform thorough patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication review) and help develop individualized care plans.
  • Give medications and treatments accurately and in line with protocols.
  • Clean, dress, and monitor wounds or incisions, watching for signs of infection or complications.
  • Routinely monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Keep clear, accurate patient records of treatments, medications, and status changes.
  • Teach patients and families about diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health.
  • Start and monitor IVs and IV medications when required, ensuring lines function properly.
  • Care for patients with urinary catheters—insert, maintain, and watch for complications.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
  • Work closely with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and other team members to coordinate care.
  • Support patient comfort and safety through positioning, mobility help, and pain management.
  • Act quickly and calmly in emergencies, using established protocols and basic life support skills.
  • Follow strict infection control practices and use PPE appropriately.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies safely and according to guidelines.
  • Promote wellness and preventive measures such as vaccinations and screenings.
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and needs, ensuring they receive appropriate care.
  • Stay current with nursing best practices and complete ongoing education and training.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when applicable.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
