LPN/LVN – Long-Term Care (Contract, Scarborough ME)

Rate: Local: $1,120 / 36 hours

Required qualifications:

• Active LPN state license
• BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic treatments.
• Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration.
• Manage wounds and dressings; monitor for infection or complications.
• Monitor and record vital signs and changes in patient condition; maintain accurate patient records.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and self-care.
• Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids and maintain IV lines (as within scope of practice).
• Provide catheter care, including insertion assistance, maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
• Assist with patient mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and pain management.
• Respond to emergencies per facility policy and provide basic life support as needed.
• Follow infection control practices and proper use of PPE.
• Safely handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies per regulations.
• Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and advocate for patient rights/needs.
• May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
• Complete other duties as assigned by management.
