Location: Albuquerque, NM | Type: Contract (Non-Travel) | Start: ASAP | Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Mon–Wed, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM | Rate: Local $1,120 / 36 hours

Overview:
Seeking a detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse to provide hands-on nursing care in Albuquerque. This contract role delivers direct patient care under RN/physician supervision, supports interdisciplinary teams, and upholds clinical and regulatory standards in a fast-paced setting.

Required:

  • Active, unencumbered LPN license for the state of New Mexico
  • BLS certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and monitoring of vital signs.
  • Perform patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Monitor, document, and report changes in patient condition, treatments, and responses to interventions.
  • Prepare and collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing; ensure accurate labeling and handling.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
  • Support patient comfort and safety: positioning, mobility assistance, pain management, and infection control practices (PPE, hand hygiene).
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide basic life support per protocol.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and support staff to coordinate care and advocate for patient needs.
  • Supervise and delegate to CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Remain current with nursing best practices, policies, and required training.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.
