Requirements:

• Active LPN license for the state of New Mexico
• BLS certification

Key responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician supervision: medication administration, wound care, vital signs, and basic treatments.
• Perform patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and prescribed treatments accurately and per protocols.
• Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for infection or complications.
• Monitor and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temp, respirations) and changes in patient condition.
• Maintain accurate patient records of treatments, medications, and condition changes.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
• Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids and maintain IV lines as indicated.
• Provide catheter care: insertion, maintenance, and monitoring for complications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for lab testing.
• Assist with patient comfort, positioning, mobility, and pain management.
• Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per protocols.
• Follow infection control procedures and use PPE appropriately.
• Handle, store, and dispose of medications and medical supplies safely and according to regulations.
• Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and support staff to ensure coordinated care.
• May supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
