Patient population and clinical scope

• Adult patients only
• Case mix: 100% trauma, non‑elective neurosurgery
• Typical volume: ~6 patients/day
• Duties: admissions, inpatient consults, rounding as clinically appropriate, phone consults as needed

Facility and support

• Hospital: 317 beds, Level I Trauma Center
• EMR: Cerner
• Onsite support: multispecialty hospital backup, hospital-based clinical and surgical teams
• Equipment: standard neurosurgical and hospital equipment

Privileges, credentialing, and reason for coverage

• Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges: TBD
• Credentialing timeline: ~3 days
• Reason: supplemental trauma coverage

Required procedures and responsibilities

• Provide full 24-hour neurosurgery call coverage for trauma cases
• Perform emergency trauma neurosurgical procedures and interventions
• Evaluate, manage, and document neurosurgical trauma patients in Cerner
• Admit and manage inpatient surgical cases and provide consultations
• Collaborate with trauma team and multidisciplinary services

Qualifications and compliance

• Board certified/board eligible in Neurosurgery
• Active Arizona medical license or proof of application (IMLC accepted)
• Active DEA registration for Arizona
• BLS required
• Preferred: prior experience in a Level I trauma setting; ability to manage high-volume trauma caseloads
