We’re looking for a Neurosurgery Physician Assistant to provide supplemental, call-only coverage in Clearwater, FL. This is a locum tenens opportunity covering both inpatient and outpatient needs, starting ASAP with ongoing coverage.
Schedule and call details
- Call only: Monday–Thursday, 9:00 PM–7:30 AM (weekly)
- Beeper call with a 15-minute response time
- Expected callback rate ~25%
- Patient mix: adults, average census ~10
- Phone consults: typically 0–25 during a shift
- Rounds are included
Clinical environment and support
- Department beds: 16
- Care team: 4 physicians, 4 APPs, 1 RN, 1 MA, and 3 office staff
- EMR: Cerner
- Facility is a Certified Stroke Center (not a Trauma Center)
- Hospital privileges required; temporary privileges available
Logistics and benefits
- Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered
Required qualifications
- Active Florida license or participation in IMLC
- Board Certified
- BLS and ACLS
- Minimum 1 year of neurosurgery experience as a PA
