Locum Tenens Obstetrics & Gynecology Physician — Richmond, VA (May–Aug 2026)

We’re looking for an OB/GYN to provide locum tenens coverage (with potential to transition to perm) in Richmond, VA from May 1–Aug 31, 2026. You’ll work both inpatient and outpatient shifts, primarily supporting a busy team and handling a mix of routine and some complicated obstetrics.

What the schedule looks like

• Typical shift: 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
• Call: nights and weekends, 1:4 call ratio
• Coverage type: clinical shifts plus call

Clinical mix and volume

• Patient volume: ~25–30 patients/day
• Case mix: ~90% low‑risk pregnancy, 10% high‑risk pregnancy, ~20% GYN
• GYN surgeries: 1–4 during the coverage period
• Procedures: low & high‑risk pregnancy care, FHR interpretation, routine and complicated labor & delivery, office/minor GYN procedures
• Onsite lab and ultrasound available

Team and facility

• Physicians in practice: 4
• Support staff: 5 midwives, 5 APPs, plus CMA, LPN and RN support
• Beds: 391
• Trauma level II, NICU level III
• Exam rooms available: 3
• EMR: Epic

Logistics and compensation

• Mileage and malpractice insurance covered

Requirements

• VA medical license (active or willing to obtain)
• Board certified/board eligible (BC/BE)
• BLS and ACLS required
• NPDB report required
• Preference for local candidates
