Contract Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) — Oakland, CA — 13-Week Travel/Local Position

Schedule: Mon–Fri, 08:00 AM–04:30 PM (36 hours/week)
Rate: Travel $2,383/36 hrs; Local $2,347/36 hrs

Requirements:

• Valid, active Speech-Language Pathologist state license

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform comprehensive assessments of speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
• Diagnose communication and swallowing disorders using clinical evaluation and diagnostic testing.
• Develop individualized treatment plans with measurable goals.
• Provide direct therapy to address articulation, fluency, voice, receptive/expressive language, and cognitive-communication.
• Evaluate and treat dysphagia; implement and teach safe swallowing strategies.
• Recommend, train on, and monitor augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) as needed.
• Educate patients and families on home programs, compensatory strategies, and carryover techniques.
• Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries accurately and timely.
• Reassess and modify treatment based on patient response and outcomes.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members (physicians, therapists, educators) for coordinated care.
• Facilitate generalization of communication skills to daily living, school, or work environments.
• Maintain professional development and stay current with evidence-based practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
