We’re seeking a locum tenens physiatrist to provide inpatient and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation coverage in Columbia, South Carolina from June 19–29, 2026. Your schedule will be Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., focusing on clinical care only.

What you’ll be doing

  • Provide hands-on inpatient pediatric rehabilitation care and oversight for children and adolescents.
  • Perform face-to-face evaluations and ongoing management of pediatric rehab patients (roughly five patients per day).
  • Supervise two physician assistants, including review of notes, orders, and family communications.
  • Participate in weekly interdisciplinary team conferences and collaborate with therapists, nurses, and other rehab staff to set and track treatment goals and discharge plans.
  • Document encounters and care plans in Epic.

The team and facility

  • You’ll work with a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team supported by 12 RNs, one rehab technician, and three therapists.
  • Facility resources include standard hospital equipment plus specialized rehabilitation tools (including a ceiling-mounted walking track).
  • Epic EMR used.

Credentials and requirements

  • Active South Carolina medical license required.
  • Board certification in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation required.
  • BLS and PALS required.
  • Minimum two years of post-training clinical experience.
  • Clean malpractice history; prior experience with Epic preferred.
  • Hospital privileges required; credentialing typically takes about 60–90 days with a clean file.

  • Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are provided.
