Locums Neurosurgery Physician

We are seeking a Board-Certified Neurosurgery Physician for a locums coverage assignment at a Level I Trauma Center in Youngstown, Ohio. This is a hospital-based role providing 24-hour neurosurgical call coverage for adult and trauma cases.

 

Assignment Details

• Coverage Dates: March 3 – March 10
• Schedule:
• 24-hour call coverage
• 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• 1 week per month
• Weekend Coverage: Yes (included during assigned call week)
• Practice Setting: Hospital-based
• Trauma Designation: Level I Trauma Center

Clinical Volume

• Average Surgical Cases: 1–2 emergent cases per day
• Patient Population: Adult and trauma patients
• Neuro Interventional Radiology: In-house support available

 

Required Procedures

The physician must be comfortable managing and performing the following neurosurgical procedures:

• Adult neurosurgery cases
• Trauma neurosurgery cases
• Brain bleed stoppage
• Clot removal
• Tumor removal
• Trauma repair
• Shunt insertion and revision

 

Documentation

• EMR System: EPIC

 

Requirements

 

• Board Certified in Neurosurgery
• Active Ohio medical license required (no exceptions)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to manage emergent neurosurgical and trauma cases independently
• Strong collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary trauma team
