Locums Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide locums coverage in a community-based Emergency Department in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. This opportunity is ideal for advanced practice providers with strong emergency medicine experience who are comfortable working independently in a lower-volume ED setting.

Compensation:  $120 Per Hour

 

Assignment Overview

• Practice Setting: Hospital-based Emergency Department
• ED Beds: 8
• Average Daily Volume: ~45 patients per day

Schedule

• Morning Shift: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Evening Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
• Weekend Requirements: None
• On-Call Requirements: None

Emergency Department Metrics

• Hospital Admission Rate from ED: ~80%
• Patients Admitted Daily: ~6%
• Patients Transferred Daily: ~6%

 

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with emergent and urgent conditions
• Perform emergency procedures within scope of practice
• Collaborate with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and ancillary services
• Document care accurately and efficiently in the medical record
• Provide high-quality, patient-centered emergency care

 

Requirements

• Physician Assistant:
• Graduate of an accredited PA program
• NCCPA certification required
• Nurse Practitioner:
• Graduate of an accredited NP program
• AANP certification required

• Active Massachusetts license required
• ACLS certification required

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience required
• No new graduates
