Job Description
Recruiting a Neurologist, Geriatrician, or Psychiatrist with Interest in Cognitive & Memory Care
Charlotte, North Carolina
Neurologist | Geriatrician | Geriatric Psychiatrist / Neuropsychiatrist
Practice Cognitive Medicine the Way You Imagined.
A highly respected nonprofit cognitive and movement disorders clinic in Charlotte, NC, is seeking neurologists with interest/expertise in dementia care.
This is a rare opportunity to practice dementia care in a relational, time-intensive model — free from RVU pressure and high-volume clinic expectations. A truly time-intensive care model featuring 2-hour new patient visits, 1-hour follow-ups, and a thoughtfully structured schedule of just 6–7 patients per day — with dedicated caregiver time built into every appointment.
About the Practice
Independent nonprofit medical clinic
Strong, established philanthropic donor support
Exclusive focus on cognitive and movement disorders
2 Neurologists and 1 Geriatrician
Additional Neurologist joining this summer
3 APPs (expanding to 4)
200-patient waitlist (6-month backlog)
Owned 5,900 sq ft primary office plus satellite clinics
Stable, mission-driven leadership
The practice operates on a three-part funding model:
Insurance reimbursement (Medicare and major payers)
Annual family support fee
Ongoing philanthropic contributions
A Unique Model of Care
2-hour new patient appointments
1-hour follow-up visits
6–7 patients per day
Dedicated caregiver time built into each visit

No call
No weekends
No hospital coverage
Salary-based compensation (no RVU production model)
This practice defines the “patient” as both the individual and the caregiver. Nearly half of appointment time is often devoted to caregiver education, planning, and support.
This is relational medicine — not transactional healthcare.
