Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) | Hilo, HI (Contract)

Join a CVU team in Hilo, HI on a contract/travel assignment starting ASAP. This 36-hour shift opportunity pays $1,930 and offers hands-on care for cardiovascular patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting.

Required qualifications

• Current RN license for practice in the hiring state
• BLS and ACLS certification
• Prior experience in CVU, telemetry, ICU, or other critical care settings preferred
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and communication skills
• Proficiency with cardiovascular monitoring, cardiac rhythms, and related procedures
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively to changing patient conditions

Key responsibilities

• Deliver direct nursing care for CVU patients, including pre- and post-procedure monitoring
• Continuously monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and patient responses
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and prescribed treatments safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the multidisciplinary team on care planning
• Provide patient and family education on cardiovascular conditions, procedures, and discharge instructions
• Accurately document all care in the electronic health record in a timely manner
• Recognize and manage clinical changes and emergencies according to unit protocols
• Adhere to CVU policies, safety standards, and participate in quality improvement and continuing education efforts
