Join a level II trauma emergency department in St. Louis, MO, as a locum tenens Emergency Medicine physician to provide supplemental clinical coverage from March 10–September 1, 2026. This fast-paced ED manages ~58,000 visits annually with a 60-bed capacity and average patient volume of 15–20 per shift. Admissions are required.

Schedule & Shifts

• 21–34 shifts per month across varied schedules: day (6a–3p, 7a–4p, 9a–5p, 9a–6p), swing/evening (2p–11p, 3p–11p, 5p–2a, 5p–1a), and night (10p–7a, 11p–7a).
• APPs currently staffed 9a–9p; scribes and a fast-track lane are available.

Clinical Environment & Support

• Annual ED volume: 58,000; Trauma Level II.
• Support services available 24/7: anesthesia, CT surgery, cath lab, general surgery, neurosurgery, ortho, vascular surgery, radiology, lab, and OR response. L&D department on site.
• Typical support team per shift: 4 APPs, 16 RNs, 1 office staff.
• EMR: Epic.

Procedures & Capabilities

• Common procedures: laceration repair, I&D, intubation.
• Higher-acuity procedures supported: central line placement, chest tube insertion, point-of-care ultrasound, ultrasound-guided IVs.

Qualifications

• Active Missouri medical license, Board Certified in Emergency Medicine, current ACLS, ATLS, and PALS certifications required.
