Location: Big Spring (Howard County), TX
Facility: Residential Behavioral Health Facility
Position: Full-Time Contract (6 months), On-site
Schedule: 40 hours/week. Initial 23 weeks: Monday–Friday daytime with on-unit mentorship by a seasoned LVN. After mentorship: alternating shifts to meet staffing needs; every other weekend off. Flexible start dates (Mon–Fri). Minimum 5 business days required for pre-employment processing.
Rate: $33–$36/hr

Minimum Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited LVN/LPN program
  • Active, unrestricted LVN/LPN license in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years nursing experience preferred
  • Behavioral health or long-term care experience preferred
  • Must meet agency and facility requirements: drug screen, FBI fingerprint background check, immunizations, and required training

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care per facility protocols
  • Administer medications and perform treatments; provide medication education to patients
  • Complete timely, accurate documentation and clinical data entry (training provided)
  • Follow SOPs and regulatory standards (CMS, Joint Commission, agency/facility policies)
  • Collaborate with RNs, nurse managers, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by nursing leadership
