Location: Albuquerque, NM | Type: Contract (Non-Travel) | Start: ASAP | Duration: 16 weeks
Schedule: Sun–Tue, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM | Rate: Local $1,120 / 36 hours

Requirements:

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license for the state of New Mexico
  • BLS certification

Position overview:
Provide direct patient care under RN or physician supervision in a hospital/clinical setting. Deliver safe, evidence-based nursing interventions, document care accurately, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support optimal patient outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform focused patient assessments, obtain medical histories, and contribute to individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments per orders, ensuring accurate dosing and adherence to protocols
  • Monitor, document, and report vital signs and changes in patient condition
  • Provide wound care, dressing changes, and monitor for complications or infection
  • Insert, maintain, and monitor IV lines and urinary catheters as required; administer and observe IV medications/fluids
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing
  • Support patient mobility, positioning, comfort, and pain management
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures
  • Respond to emergencies using established protocols and basic life support
  • Follow infection control practices, handle and dispose of medications/supplies safely, and maintain accurate medical records
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and support staff to coordinate care; may supervise CNAs/UAPs when assigned
  • Maintain professional competency through ongoing education and comply with facility policies and regulatory standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

This role requires strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and commitment to patient advocacy and safety.
