Contract LPN — Albuquerque, NM. Start ASAP for a 13-week assignment. Schedule: Thu–Sat, 06:00 AM–06:30 PM. Local rate: $1,012 per 36 hours.

Requirements:

  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Overview:
Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician direction in a fast-paced clinical setting. Deliver safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care while maintaining accurate documentation and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Perform patient assessments (physical exams, histories, medication reviews) and contribute to individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration
  • Manage wound care: evaluate, clean, dress, and monitor for complications or infection
  • Monitor and record vital signs and patient status; report changes to the care team
  • Insert, maintain, and monitor IV lines and urinary catheters as indicated; observe for complications
  • Collect and prepare specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures
  • Assist with mobility, positioning, comfort, and pain management to promote safety and recovery
  • Respond to emergencies and provide basic life support per established protocols
  • Follow infection control standards, PPE use, and safe medication/storage/disposal procedures
  • Advocate for patients’ rights and coordinate with RNs, physicians, therapists, CNAs, and support staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Supervise and delegate to CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel as assigned
  • Maintain professional development by staying current with nursing best practices and facility policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
