Position type: Contract (Non-Travel) — 10 weeks, start ASAP
Location: Albuquerque, NM
Schedule: Sun–Tue, 06:00 AM–06:30 PM
Rate: Local: $1,012 / 36 hours

Minimum requirements:

  • Active, valid LPN license for the state of New Mexico
  • Current BLS certification

Core responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician guidance (medication administration, wound care, vital signs).
  • Conduct patient assessments (physical exam, history, medication review) and contribute to care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments accurately per orders and protocols.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for complications or infection.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in patient condition.
  • Maintain accurate patient records of assessments, treatments, and medication administration.
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, self-care, and preventive measures.
  • Insert, maintain, and monitor IV lines; administer and observe IV medications/fluids as permitted by facility policy.
  • Manage urinary catheters (insertion, care, monitoring for complications) as within scope of practice.
  • Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Provide basic comfort and safety measures (positioning, mobility assistance, pain management).
  • Respond to emergencies following protocols and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control procedures and use PPE appropriately.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of medications and supplies according to regulations.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs; support continuity of care.
  • Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when assigned.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by management.
