Contract (non-travel) Licensed Practical Nurse opportunity in Albuquerque, NM. Start ASAP for a 13-week assignment. Schedule: Mon–Wed, 6:00 PM–6:30 AM. Local pay: $1,120 per 36-hour week.

Requirements

• Current, active LPN license for the state of New Mexico
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

Core responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care under RN/physician direction, including medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, catheter care, and vital sign monitoring.
• Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, histories, medication review) to support individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration and patient response.
• Assess, cleanse, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for signs of infection or other complications.
• Collect specimens (blood, urine, sputum) and maintain accurate, timely patient records of condition changes, interventions, and outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, self-care, and preventive health measures.
• Assist with mobility, positioning, comfort measures, and pain management while advocating for patient rights and needs.
• Respond to emergencies using established protocols and provide basic life support as required.
• Follow strict infection control practices and safe handling, storage, and disposal of medications and supplies.
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team (RNs, physicians, therapists, support staff) to coordinate care.
• Supervise CNAs or unlicensed assistive personnel when applicable.
• Maintain professional competency through ongoing training and accept other duties as assigned by management.
