Rate: Local $1,012 / 36 hours

Minimum Requirements

  • Active, valid Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) state license
  • BLS certification

Core Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care under RN or physician guidance: medication administration, wound care, vital sign monitoring.
  • Perform focused patient assessments (physical exam, medical history, medication review) and contribute to individualized care plans.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments accurately, following protocols and documenting administration.
  • Assess, clean, dress, and monitor wounds/incisions for signs of infection or complications.
  • Measure and document vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration) and report significant changes.
  • Maintain accurate patient records: condition changes, treatments given, medication records.
  • Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and self-care instructions.
  • Administer and monitor IV medications/fluids, ensure IV site integrity and function.
  • Provide catheter care (insertion, maintenance, monitoring) and observe for complications.
  • Collect and label specimens (blood, urine, sputum) for laboratory testing.
  • Collaborate with RNs, physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate care.
  • Assist with patient mobility, positioning, comfort, and pain management.
  • Respond to emergencies per protocol and provide basic life support as needed.
  • Follow infection control practices (hand hygiene, PPE) and safe handling/disposal of medications and supplies.
  • Promote preventive care (vaccinations, screenings) and support health assessments.
  • Advocate for patient rights and needs; escalate concerns appropriately.
  • Supervise CNAs/UAPs when assigned and ensure delegated tasks are completed safely.
  • Participate in ongoing education to maintain competency and comply with regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
